Sky has been busy once again with another upgrade to its award-winning Sky Q set-top box. This update was revealed last month with the satellite TV company confirming that it would be slowly rolled out to customers across the UK. The deadline for this telly-booting change to arrive in all homes was mid-December which should mean anyone who has Q installed in their homes should get the upgrade later this week.

If you haven’t yet seen this latest update then there’s plenty to look forward to with Sky introducing numerous features to help improve the overall experience.

Firstly you’ll discover some extra voice commands are available via the remote control with users now able to get more a personalised search. That means you can now ask “What should I watch” with a TV and movies suited to you then appearing on the screen.

You can also shout some other things into your remote such as “Show me great TV” to see the best of Sky and Netflix, or “Made for Laughter lovers” for comedy fans.

Next, it’s the Sky homepage that has had a slight tweak. When scrolling through this content-packed screen you’ll now find a “What’s On Now and Next” rail.

This will display all of your ‘favourited’ TV channels making it simple to watch the live telly you love the most.

If you prefer Sky originals then Tin Star: Liverpool, Gangs of London and Emmy award-winning drama Chernobyl are all launching in HDR this December

Speaking about the changes, Fraser Stirling, Group Chief Product Officer, Sky, said: “We’re continuing to add new features to Sky Q and Sky Go, with updates almost every week, so your Sky TV experiences keep getting even better. You can watch more TV and movies in stunning HDR picture quality, get personal with voice search, enjoy more sporting action anywhere with Sky Go, and find more of what you love with our simple homepage, easy.”
