Sony launched a number of Xperia smartphones this year with its flagship lineup now looking better than ever. Earlier in 2020, we saw the release of the mighty new Xperia 1 II which was followed by the hugely impressive Xperia 5 II. Express.co.uk reviewed both of these smartphones with us applauding them for their great displays, solid cameras and inclusion on 5G data speeds.
In fact, our only big criticism of Sony’s new call makers was their price, as the £1,089 Xperia 1 II and £799 Xperia 5 II weren’t exactly cheap. With the Android market flooded with excellent devices at much lower prices, it was a big sticking point for these Sony phones.
Now, thanks to the Black Friday 2020 sales it appears cost is no longer a problem for the Xperia 1 II and Xperia 5 II. Sony has slashed the price of its 2020 devices with the ultra-premium Xperia 1 II getting a whopping £300 discount making it a very attractive option.
The Xperia 5 II has also been heavily discounted with this device now on sale for £599 – that’s a £200 saving off the launch price.
There’s also a Gorilla Glass 6 design, fast-charging battery, 5G compatibility, headphone port and 256GB of internal storage.
For those wanting something smaller, and cheaper, in their pockets then the Xperia 5 II is a good choice.
This flagship gets a 6.1-inch OLED display, triple rear camera and the same fast processor and 5G found in its more expensive sibling.
There’s also the inclusion of that headphone 3.5mm port, fast refilling battery and water-resistant design.
