Microsoft says they are doing everything they can to provide Xbox Series X restock option heading into 2021.
The good news is that January should see retailers provide more stock in both the UK and the United States.
The websites to keep track of our places like Argos, Very, Currys and GAME in the UK, as well as Walmart, Target and Gamestop in the United States.
For now, there is no guarantee whether there will be more Xbox Series X stock options made available this week.
Microsoft recently spoke more on the subject of PS5 and Xbox Series X stock in 2021 and the challenges to keep up with demand.
The good news is that the tech giant isn’t holding back any stock of their latest next-gen console and they are doing everything to continue offering Xboxs.
As ever, it’s much easier to grab an Xbox Series S console, but even these are hard to come by right now.
And speaking during a recent podcast with Larry Hryb, Xbox’s Phil Spencer provided a positive update going into 2021.
When asked how fast Microsoft are making consoles, he revealed: “I get some people of, ‘Why didn’t you build more? Why didn’t this start earlier? Why didn’t Microsoft ship them earlier?’ I mean all of those things.
“It’s really just down to physics and engineering. We’re not holding them back. We’re building them as fast as we can.
“We have all of the assembly lines going. I was on the phone last week with Lisa Su at AMD, ‘How do we get more? How do we get more?’
“It’s something that we’re constantly working on, but it’s not just us. I think gaming had really come into its own in 2020.”
Adding more about the overall situation with next-gen consoles, Spencer added: “Obviously, PlayStation 5’s in very tight supply.
“When you look at the graphics cards from AMD and NVIDIA, I mean there’s just a lot of interesting gaming right now.
“Console sales are just a sign of that. Game sales are a sign of that. Hardware is in short supply, but we’re working as hard as we can. The teams are incredibly dedicated. I appreciate people’s patience as we work to build more.”
While this is good news for gamers hoping to snag a console, it should be noted that supply shortages are expected to continue in January 2021.
It’s unclear when there will be enough Xbox Series X console to keep up with demand, and the same situation is also affecting Sony, and it’s PlayStation 5.
It has been claimed that a new PS5 stock update is being planned in the UK by Thursday, January 7 2021, which could mean news being shared in the coming days.
However, if there are any delays (logistical or otherwise) to this rumoured PS5 shipment, then the restock could be delayed by a few days “at best”.
The rumours of an inbound PS5 restock come courtesy of the PS5 UK Stock – Instant Updates Twitter account, who over the Christmas period has been tweeting about when gamers in the UK will be getting a chance to purchase the PlayStation 5 again.
In the run-up to Christmas, the PS5 stock Twitter account said a “huge” shipment of PS5 stock is on its way to the UK.
And in terms of specific retailers that could be getting more PS5 stock, the @PS5Instant Twitter said BT and EE customers should be able to purchase.
Scarcity of console stock isn’t something new for gamers, and there’s plenty to suggest that there will be a return to normality in the coming months.
