According to a new report out this week, The Burning Crusade will be coming to WoW Classic in 2021.
There have been hints that the popular expansion could arrive as part of a new DLC offering.
The first clues that something like this could be happening popped up earlier in 2020, albeit, without providing much in concrete proof.
A survey was released by Blizzard earlier in 2020 gauging the interest in seeing TBC content launching in-game.
Two questions were asked, with the main one asking the level of interest the person had in playing a Classic version of The Burning Crusade. It’s unclear what the results were and if we will see such a content package released by Blizzard in the future.
But now a new report suggests that a WoW Classic TBC beta will be arriving in early 2021.
The latest information on the subject claims that The Burning Crusade will be revealed during BlizzConline.
This event is being held on February 19-20 and is expected to include a lot of exciting information for Blizzard gamers.
“While circumstances are keeping us from gathering in person this year, we’re putting together a little something early next year to channel the spirit of BlizzCon into the form of an online show, which will be free to watch and engage in.
“We still have a lot of planning to do, and it’ll be some time before we’re ready to share more details—but we wanted to provide a heads-up on how you can be a part of the online fun.”
The good news is that BlizzConOnline will be free to watch, so if anything new is shared, you should be able to watch for no extra charge.
The source of this new information is YouTuber ‘Staysafe’, who has revealed that different sources have confirmed the same thing.
And if it proves correct, the WoW Classic TBC release date will start in February with a beta.
This will be followed by the full launch of The Burning Crusade Classic on May 4, 2020.
It should be noted that information remains a rumour, for now, meaning it should be taken with a big pinch of salt.
The most recent WoW Classic update brought Naxxramas to live servers, challenging gamers to “Gather 40 brave adventurers to take on the terrors within and reap the rewards such as the Splinter of Atiesh, Corrupted Ashbringer, The Phylactery of Kel’Thuzad, Shoulder enchantments, and nine-piece raid sets for each class, which provide additional bonuses when you equip 2, 4, 6, or 8 pieces from the set.”
For anyone needing a refresher on the Burning Crusader can check out the official description here:
“The Doom Lord Kazzak reopened the Dark Portal to Outland, flooding Azeroth with the ravenous demons of the Burning Legion.
“Expeditions from the Horde and Alliance, reinforced by their new blood elf and draenei allies, passed through the gateway to stop the invasion at its source.
“On Outland’s desiccated Hellfire Peninsula, the Alliance discovered several of their heroes who had crossed through the portal many years before, while the Horde made contact with the Mag’har – ‘uncorrupted’ orcs who had not participated in their race’s original invasion of Azeroth.
“The expedition into Outland dragged Horde and Alliance armies further into conflict with the agents of the Legion and the lieutenants of Illidan Stormrage, who had claimed the shattered realm for his own.”
