Taylor Swift is at it again, surprising fans with more music drops with little warning. Earlier this year, Taylor released Folklore, a new album which was recorded in lockdown. Since then she has revealed a second 2020 album is coming out, called Evermore – but when is it out?
Taylor Swift’s first 2020 album, Folklore, was released on July 24, 2020, after weeks of recording at a distance.
She and her songwriting partners worked on the album from far and wide, recording and passing songs together over the course of weeks and months.
Eventually, the release came as a surprise to fans, with Taylor announcing it with a series of images on Instagram.
This time, something similar has occurred where her newest album, Evermore, is also coming out in time for Christmas, but also with a quiet release.

Speaking on Twitter, Taylor said: “To put it plainly, we just couldn’t stop writing songs.
“To try and put it more poetically, it feels like we were standing on the edge of the folklorian woods and had a choice: to turn and go back or to travel further into the forest of this music. We chose to wander deeper in.
“I’ve never done this before. In the past I’ve always treated albums as one-off eras and moved onto planning the next one after an album was released.
“There was something different with folklore. In making it, I felt less like I was departing and more like I was returning.

In the documentary, Taylor revealed some secrets about the team behind the album, especially the mysterious William Bowery, who was listed as a songwriter.
In her announcement Instagram post, he was the only person without a handle or Instagram account, and soon it became clear this was her partner, British actor Joe Alwyn.
Speaking in the documentary, she said: “[There has been] a lot of discussion about William Bowery and his identity.
“William Bowery is Joe, as we know.
“Joe plays piano beautifully and he’s always just playing and making things up and kind of creating things.”
According to Taylor, Joe wrote the piano music for the song Exile and originally sang the duet, before this was recorded by Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon.
Taylor added: “He was just singing it the way that the whole first verse is and so I was entranced and asked if we could keep writing that one.
“It was pretty obvious that it should be a duet because he’s got such a low voice and it sounded really good sung down there.”
Evermore, the follow-up to Folklore, will be released on at 5am on December 11
