TemTem made a big splash with its debut on Steam earlier this year, and now it looks like the next stop is the PS5. Developers Crema has announced that its game will be coming next to PlayStation 5 as an early access product. Gone are the days that Sony keeps titles off their platform until they are fully finished, meaning TemTem can arrive sooner than expected.
The only downside is that PS4 gamers will have to wait longer, as the other versions of the game aren’t expected to arrive until 2021.
The PS5 early access of TemTem will begin on December 8, and the only way to score a code is by pre-ordering the game.
A message from Crema explains: “Temtem will be coming to PS5 in Early Access, as early as December 8! Preorders are now open, so go grab your copy and start experiencing Temtem on console this very year.
“Pre-ordering Temtem now will grant you an exclusive in-game title, cool PSN avatars, and, of course, a ticket to the Early Access. Plus, it’s cheaper.”
The team has also warned that this will be a big project for them and the first one where they build a live experience on console.
“This is our first time attempting to manage a live game on consoles, and as such, we had to start somewhere and learn little by little.
“While we’d like to reach everyone, we need to truly take in what it means to publish patches in more than one platform at the same time, synchronize them, and keep an eye on both.
“Trying to do this with more than a couple of platforms would be too daunting from the get-go, but starting with one is manageable and will help us be prepared for the future. So we’re starting right here.
“With this announcement, we’ve also revealed a lot of details that had been asked about often, such as the final price of Temtem after it launches: it will be $44.99 for Standard, and $64.99 for Deluxe.”
For those that don’t know much about TemTem, it’s a new MMO experience based around similar concepts to Pokemon.
Players will be able to explore the world with a team of creatures that you will also use to battle others.
This will mean sharing a world with other TemTem tamers, which you will be able to see exploring alongside you, as well as fighting to become a top trainer.
This also extends to being able to join forces with a friend and work together to catch new Temtem, or face off against a Temtem Leader in dual battles.
Since launching on Steam, TemTem has seen a stream of new updates and content released for it, including new areas to explore and TemTem to collect.
The game features a story campaign, online co-op, extensive customisation and a battle system. Players can even purchase a house within the game, and decorate it with various items.
