A new PS4 game is being offered for free this week and it comes with a PlayStation Plus requirement.
The first game in the We Were Here series has arrived on the PlayStation Store, offering a new puzzle experience for anyone who wants to download it.
It’s only free for a limited period, meaning you should head over to the store and claim it today.
The rest of the We Were Here series will be coming to PlayStation 4 on February 23, so there’s plenty more to play if you enjoy the first instalment.
We Were Here is a co-operative puzzle game where players must work together to escape a sinister castle.
The first instalment is under 5GB to download on PS4 and the PS5 version comes with faster load times.
The We Were Here series will continue with the release of We Were Here Too and We Were Here Together on February 23.
A message from developers Total Mayhem Games reveals: “Lost in a frozen wasteland and split up from your partner inside an abandoned castle, the only possession you have left is a walkie-talkie with a familiar voice on the other end. Can the two of you find your way out in time?
“We Were Here is the pilot episode in a series of cooperative standalone puzzle adventures. Two players are trapped inside an abandoned castle, with Player One confined to a small secluded part of the castle as Player Two roams the halls trying to find Player One.
“Every room challenges your wits and ability to communicate clearly, using only your voice. Are you ready to find out how well you and your friends work together? If you like living on the edge, try playing it with a complete stranger.”
We Were Here is available to download on PS4 and PS5 consoles until February 22, 2021.
But as stated above, a PS Plus account will be needed, with a message from Sony explaining:
“While it’s nice to play them in order, every We Were Here game is a complete experience in itself.
“Think of it like a TV series where the episodes are individual stories, but also tie together in the longer term.
“In the same way, you can return to the first two games after playing We Were Here Together and still discover new details about the backstory of Castle Rock. Don’t forget that while anyone can claim the game, you’ll need a PlayStation Plus subscription to play since it’s an online co-op experience.”
So even though anyone can grab it on PlayStation consoles, only those with PS Plus will enjoy the full experience.
And if you’re not much for puzzlers, Destruction AllStars is downloadable on PlayStation Plus until Monday, April 5 and Control: Ultimate Edition and Concrete Genie will be disappearing after Monday, March 1.
