PlayStation Plus subscriptions are currently on offer over on the official PSN website.
Available until January 18, the latest PS Plus deal gives new subscribers the chance to purchase a 15-month membership for the price of 12.
Priced at £49.99, customers are essentially saving a total of £20 on the typical cost of an annual subscription combined with a three month subscription.
Sadly, it’s only available to non-subscribers, which means existing PS Plus members can’t take advantage of the deal in order to top up their current subscription.
If you do own a PS5 and/or a PS4 console, then it’s a good way to save some cash, especially with the February 2021 free games about to be released.
As a reminder, PS Plus subscribers get access to lots of different benefits, including monthly free games, online multiplayer and cloud saves.
“PS Plus online multiplayer opens new worlds in your favourite games, lets you play online with friends and compete in online tournaments and is your invitation to join a global community of online gamers,” Sony explains.
“Join PS Plus to get exclusive access to the best deals on select games, add-ons, pre-orders and more from PlayStation Store.”
Subscribers can also unlock exclusive rewards in games such as Apex Legends and Fortnite.
This includes special item bundles containing things like new costumes, weapon designs and lots more.
But the best reason to subscribe to PS Plus are the monthly games given to subscribers for free.
The January 2021 free PS Plus games, for example, include Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Greedfall for PS4, as well as Maneater for PS5.
The aforementioned games will be replaced by a new line-up of free PS4 and PS5 releases on February 2.
While the full line-up is yet to be revealed, one game that has been confirmed for PS Plus in February is PS5 vehicular combat game Destruction All-Stars.
“Dominate the glittering global phenomenon of Destruction AllStars – the spectacular prime-time sport for dangerous drivers!” reads the official blurb.
“Master the art of intense vehicle-based combat through timing, tactics and skills to cause colossal amounts of damage, destruction and devastation in vibrant arenas across the globe.
“Pile-on the destruction from behind the wheel or leap into the arena with a breathtaking reel of parkour action by dodging attacks, taking over vehicles or using abilities to disrupt the onslaught of incoming vehicles.”
