After the tension these two have experienced over the last few days, Adam Collard’s apology was pretty surprising.
He took Rosie Williams to one side and apologised to her for his actions, giving her the opportunity to vent some further frustrations.
Adam said he was “actually sorry” and professed not to like seeing anyone cry, which Rosie took well, to the extent that she asked him to be friends and they shared a hug.
But after the horrible way he treated her previously, especially when he was seen to smirk as she cried in front of him, fans were not sure his apology was genuine, with some even thinking producers may have told him to do it.
One wrote: “#LoveIsland I think the producer have forced Adam to make that apology because women’s aid put that statement out about Adams treatment of Rosie”
Another said: “Adam’s apology to Rosie isn’t genuine. The producer probably told him to say sorry after the Women’s Aid warning #LoveIsland”
A third said: “Pretty sure the producers had a word with Adam and told him he was coming across like a gaslighting a*****. That apology was fake as. #LoveIsland”
Charity Women’s Aid suggested Adam’s behaviour, if seen in the real world, was an example of gaslighting, where a person makes another feel like they are to blame or question their sanity.
They branded his behaviour “emotional abuse” and he came under fire from a huge number of fans.
But others suggested his apology may have come because of what new boy Sam Bird said, when he entered the villa and called the playboy out for his antics.
One said: “Adams apology isn’t genuine, it’s because Sam said what he said last night and Adam has realise how hes perceived on the outside world so he’s changing his behaviour now #LoveIsland”
Another said: “Adam is completely playin da game! So this new boy came in told Adam whats what, Adam then thought hmmm ppl are actually watchin me outside, so dus a b****** apology to Rosie? #IseeYouAdam #LoveIsland
But an ITV spokesperson has denied claims producers forced Adam to apologise due to any media pressure, saying it was “a genuine apology.”
