The good news for gamers this week is that free-to-play Genshin Impact is receiving a massive update that will add new content and features to the game. The downside is that developers Mihoyo has also confirmed the official Genshin Impact maintenance times, and it looks like game servers will be offline for hours. Depending on where you live in the world, the popular RPG could be offline for a large chunk of the evening. But after everything has been completed, Genshin Impact update 1.1 will be available to download and gamers will have access to all the new stuff.
WHAT TIME DOES MAINTENANCE BEGIN ON GENSHIN IMPACT SERVERS?
Developers Mihoyo has confirmed that Genshin Impact maintenance will start today, November 10, to make way for update 1.1.
Based on the different changes confirmed for the new patch, fans of the hit RPG will be kicked offline for around five hours.
The official Genshin Impact maintenance start time has been set for 10pm GMT, or 2pm PDT, if you live in the United States.
Based on all the above information, Genshin Impact 1.1 should be available to download and play after 3am GMT, on Wednesday, November 11.
A message from Mihoyo adds: “To bring you the best-possible Genshin Impact experience, the developers will soon perform version update maintenance, during which the servers will be down. After the update maintenance, a brand-new version will be available.
“After downloading the new version of the game, Travelers will be able to experience the new content. As the update size is rather large, we recommend you download the update while connected to Wi-Fi.
“While the update maintenance is in progress, Travelers will be unable to log in to the game. Please take note of the update time and schedule your game time accordingly to avoid losing your progress. We hope Travelers will bear with us during the disruption.”
As noted above, the next Genshin Impact update will be a big one, meaning it could take some time to download and get back on servers.
To update your game, here’s what you will need to do:
PC: Close the game, re-open the launcher, and click Update.
iOS: Go to the App Store and tap Update.
Android: Open the game and follow the prompts to complete the update. (Or go to the Google Play Store and tap Update.)
PS4: Highlight Genshin Impact on the PS4 Home Screen > press the OPTIONS button > select Check for Update.
The good news for gamers is that there will be free Primogens giving out for how long the servers are down for.
Currently, the development team has confirmed that there will be 300 Primogems giving out based on today’s maintenance.
However, they also note that “We will give a compensation of 60 Primogems for each hour the servers are down. If servers go back online sooner than scheduled, we will still give out the full compensation.”
“With regard to inaccurate descriptions of characters and artefacts, compensation will be given out for these issues separately after they are fixed.”
