Developers MiHoYo will be showcasing Genshin Impact 1.2 this week ahead of its December release date.
The news was shared today by the studio, who confirmed that there would be a streaming event held on December 11.
The good news for gamers in the UK is that there will be an English-language stream being hosted by the Chinese development team.
The new Genshin Impact stream will be held at 8am PT (4pm GMT) on Friday, December 11, and will no doubt focus on new content.
A message from MiHoYo confirms: “Travelers, We will host a 1.2 Version Special Program on December 11th, 8AM (PST), during which we will be revealing some juicy details of the 1.2 version.”
Genshin Impact version 1.2 is also known as “The Chalk Prince and the Dragon” with MiHoyo already confirming that Ganyu, an Adepti, will be part of the new expansion.
It has also been revealed that Zhongli will be getting a buff but not until after the launch of Genshin Impact 1.2.
This was revealed on Chinese social media by MiHoYo, who are preparing to make changes to the character in the next major update.
This will be Genshin Impact 1.3, which is expected to be released during February 2021, across PC, PS4 and Mobile platforms.
Developers Mihoyo hasn’t revealed what the next banners will be, but they have started discussing features that will be available with the launch of update 1.2.
New details were shared today via a developer blog post, including on how the chat system will evolve.
For those who have unlocked the friend system online, more options are set to be added to the game later this month.
A message from Mihoyo confirms: “A chat function is coming in Version 1.2. Travellers who have unlocked the friend system can chat with friends from the Friends screen or via a shortcut button.
“If your friend is offline, they will receive your message the next time they log in.”
Other features being worked on include allowing travellers to select a friend’s avatar and add a name for them in a note.
“The name you add will show up in your friends list and in chats, and only you will see the name you have given them. Hopefully, that will make it easier to remember who’s who!”
The developers are also planning to release a trackable map pins feature, which will make it possible to select a Custom Pin from the map screen and choose Navigate.
The Genshin Impact release date expected to fall on December 23, 2020, although changes may be announced to this schedule in the near future.
