Destiny 2 gamers can look forward to the return of Trials of Osiris today, with the best stuff being offered to those who can string together a Flawless run. Only a few more Trials are being released before the arrival of the big Beyond Light expansion, which will be available to download and play on November 10. Developers Bungie has been providing new updates regarding Beyond Light, including what to expect when it comes to weapon changes.
These changes will affect the Trials experience, with Bungie laying out their plans to bring back Adept Weapons, telling Guardians this week:
“Beginning in Beyond Light, all existing Trials weapons have Adept versions. Our intent is for all new Trials weapons to have an Adept version in the future, with their infusion caps matching the Season they were introduced in.
“For our first round of Adepts, their infusion caps will be set to that of Season of the Worthy. Additionally, we will be introducing Adept weapon mods into the sandbox in Beyond Light, which can only be applied to Adept weaponry.”
“Masterworking an Adept weapon grants additional stats. +10 for the primary stat as usual (the specific Masterwork of the weapon).
“+3 for all alternate stats. Adept weapons can use either a standard weapon mod or a new Adept weapon mod earned when going Flawless. A unique Adept shader has been made for these weapons.
“These shaders are not awarded as a consumable when dismantling an Adept weapon. As such, they cannot be applied to other pieces of gear.”
Back to this week, and Guardians are just hours away from stringing together wins to earn the best loot and a ticket to The Lighthouse. Rewards will not be known until Destiny 2 fans find out for themselves as Bungie never shares a list beforehand.
It should also be known that the best loot, the Flawless stuff – will take longer to confirm, but we’ll be sure to update this story as soon as we have the latest information.
The first information that will be shared will be the new map selection, with last week focusing on Convergence.
Destiny Trials of Osiris will be kicking off today, October 23, at around 6pm BST, or 10am PT if you live in the United States.
As always, Guardians will have the chance to grab new loot, which can be traded for Legendary Shards.
Returning players will want to visit Saint-14 just, who will be located in the Tower Hangar.
The Osiris reset offers a new inventory of Trials Passages, Bounties, and the option to turn in Trials Tokens.
At the same time that the Trials event kick-off, we should find out more about where Xur is, and what stuff he is offering.
Both the Trials and Xur will be available until October 27, and this will be the day when the Weekly Reset will happen.
