Cyberpunk 2077 fans in the UK now know exactly when they can start playing when the official release date rolls around later this month.
And not only is it great to know how long they will need to wait, but it also puts to bed any lingering fears that another delay would be announced.
CyberPunk 2077 is one of the year’s most highly anticipated launches which has suffered from multiple scheduling issues.
Instead of launching on November 17 as planned, CD Projekt RED was forced to pushback the release date until December 10.
This meant fans had to wait an additional three weeks to play the game on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Stadia.
“Today, we’ve decided to move the release date of Cyberpunk 2077 by 21 days. The new release date is December 10,” reads a CD Projekt statement.
“Most likely, there are many emotions and questions in your heads, so, first and foremost, please accept our humble apologies.
“The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test nine versions of it (Xbox One/X, compatibility on Xbox Series S/X, PS4.Pro, compatibility on PS5, PC, Stadia)… while working from home.”
According to CD Projekt, the game going gold – which is when it passes certification – wasn’t the end of the development process. The company continues to work on the pre-release patch for the game, which will eliminate various bugs.
However, today has seen CD Projekt RED announce exactly when Cyberpunk 2077 will be playable on December 10.
And this seems to finish off the idea of another last-minute delay being announced by the team.
WHEN CAN YOU START PLAYING CYBERPUNK 2077?
Developers CD Projekt RED has announced that the Cyberpunk 2077 release time in the UK has been set for 12:00 am on December 10, 2020.
This is for both console and PC players, and means that gamers will be able to log in and play starting from midnight on launch day, which couldn’t work out much better.
Meanwhile, console players around the world will get access to the game at midnight local time.
The PC and Stadia release time is a little different, as the launch has been scheduled for midnight GMT.
That means PC and Google Stadia gamers in the United States will get access starting at 4pm PDT on December 9, 2020.
So if you live on the West Coast, you’re going to get access to Cyberpunk 2077 nice and early on the PC Platform.
A message from CD Projekt RED adds: “For PC and Stadia players, the release is simultaneous and scheduled for midnight GMT, and for all console players – midnight local time.”
A further message also warns content creators regarding copyright when sharing game content, telling gamers:
“Cyberpunk 2077 will feature a beautiful, robust original score created by our in-house composers. In addition, you will be able to listen to over 150 songs created by wonderful artists representing diverse genres and we are confident you will love the music played by the in-game radio stations and in clubs. Unfortunately, the world of copyright law is complicated and not all of these songs can be streamed or used in your video content.
“The last thing we want is for you to run into any copyright issues. Because of this, we have created a dedicated feature for content creators. The “Disable Copyrighted Music” toggle, available in the game’s settings, will disable a small portion of in-game tracks, streaming of which could otherwise result in demonetization or takedowns of your videos or stream clips/VODs. Be sure to have this option enabled before you start streaming or recording your Cyberpunk 2077 content.”
