Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War pre-order customers should pre-load the game as soon as possible on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

It’s no secret that the new Call of Duty is a big download on PC and current-gen systems, especially if you’re planning to install the full experience at launch.

As previously reported, the full game weighs in at more than 90GB on both PS4 and Xbox One.

Needless to say, PS5 and Xbox Series X file sizes are going to be even bigger, so consider this a warning to download the game as early as possible.

According to a new post on Reddit, the Xbox Series X version of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War weighs in at a staggering 187GB. That’s despite previous claims of it weighing in at 136GB.

The increased file size includes around 38GB for HD textures, as well as 11GB for ray-tracing support.

While these additional files are optional, you’ve got to assume that Xbox Series X owners will want the full fat experience when the game launches on November 13.

The PS5 pre-load file size is yet to be confirmed, although it’s fair to assume that the full download will be similar to the Xbox Series X. As a reminder, PS5 owners can download on November 12.

Fortunately, Activision is giving fans plenty of options to customise the experience in order to save space.

“Note: console players can choose to uninstall specific game mode packs, such as for Campaign or Zombies, in order to reduce the game’s overall file size,” Activision explains.

“This content can be managed in-game through the “Account & Network” section of the Settings menu.”

Over on PC, fans will need 35GB of space for multiplayer, and 82GB of space for the full game.

If you’ve got a really powerful PC, then the full Black Ops Cold War experience with Ultra Graphics settings will require 125GB of space.

Anybody struggling to pre-load the game is advised to update their system software to the latest version.

“If you purchased a digital version of the game, but it is not downloading during the pre-load period, visit your platform’s respective first-party store and follow the prompts to begin the download,” Activision continues.

“Ensure your console is also updated to the latest firmware before attempting to pre-load the game.”

In addition to the ability to pre-load the game ahead of launch, pre-order customers will also receive a couple of in-game bonuses.

This includes the Woods Operator pack for Warzone and Modern Warfare, as well as the Confrontation Weapons Pack in Black Ops Cold War.

As a reminder, Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is out on November 13.
