Argos will be getting more PlayStation 5 consoles to sell next week, and there could be plenty of UK retailers joining them. While Argos remains one of the best places to snap up a next-gen console, the timing could be a little better. Some PS5 stock drops from Argos have arrived at odd times, which could be connected to server issues. Some game updates arrive in the early morning to avoid overloading servers and keeping things on track.
So it might make sense for some retailers to drop their latest PS5 stock at around 3am to avoid those problems, however, it does make it much harder for those potential customers.
And if you did miss the most recent Argos PS5 restock – which went live in the early hours – then leakers could have some good PlayStation 5 stock news for you.
According to the @PS5Instant Twitter account, Argos will be getting a big stock update during March 2021.
The PS5 stock tracker account believes that the next Argos restock will be happening during the first week of next month.
A message from PS5 Instant adds: “Argos and Amazon due to drop next week. The second GAME can drop anytime from 9am to 2pm this week! Live stream up.
“March is going to huge for PS5 stock. We’re expecting two major shipments to big retailers. Amazon, Argos, Currys and Very are dropping the first week of March and end of March! Don’t give in to the scalpers, we’re so close.”
It remains to be seen when the next Argos restock could go live but it sounds like it will be happening between March 1 and March 5.
And as mentioned above, Argos won’t be the only retailer that offers new PS5 stock during March.
Other retailers on the list include Currys and Very, who have been pretty regular when it comes to replenishing next-gen consoles.
It follows news that the UK government has responded to a new petition that wants action to Prevent/deter the buying and reselling of goods/services at inflated prices.
The petition adds: “This practice is most prevalent in the buying and re-selling of event tickets but also has a significant impact on the sales of trainers/clothes and technology. The most recent case in point is the launch of the PlayStation 5 and X Box Series X consoles. Both pre-orders and launch day stock were sold out instantaneously and then thousands of listings appeared on eBay at over double the RRP. A reseller group claimed to have been able to secure 3500 of these.”
The response shared from the UK government and the Department of Business, reads: “The Government is committed to maintaining one of the world’s strongest consumer protection regimes and ensuring consumers’ interests are safeguarded in our economy.
“The Government introduced legislation that prevents the use of automated software (‘bots’) to purchase event tickets which are sold on at an inflated price in 2018.
“We are discussing the issue of bulk purchasing of high demand items like graphics cards and games consoles through automated bots with trade associations such as Ukie, the trade association for the video games industry.
“We understand they are currently examining further actions they can take to prevent these behaviours and are working with their retailers to improve experiences for customers purchasing their products.”
More PS5 news is expected to be shared by stock trackers in the coming days.
