Among Us has been announced for Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass service.
The popular mystery game will be available for Game Pass subscribers on PC in the coming weeks.
There’s no word on an exact release date, other than Among Us is “coming soon”.
While fans are still waiting for news on a possible console release, the Game Pass announcement is a positive step in that direction.
“One of the biggest gaming hits of 2020 is coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC, as we’re excited to announce that InnerSloth’s Among Us will be coming to the service soon,” reads a Microsoft statement.
“Need a primer on a game that’s been dominating the world with over half a billion players? We got you.
“Among Us is an online, 4-10 multiplayer game that has you and your friends attempting to prepare your spaceship for departure. Work together and complete your tasks quickly but beware… there may be impostors aboard!”
Players need to figure out the identity of the imposter(s) in order to win the game.
In other Among Us news, InnerSloth has given fans a look at the game’s brand new map.
Unveiled in full at The Game Awards, the new Among Us map takes place on board an Airship.
The Airship takes the Among Us gameplay to a whole new level by adding even more tasks for players to complete.
Unfortunately, however, InnerSloth is yet to announce the release date, although we wouldn’t be surprised to see it launch alongside the Game Pass version for Xbox.
Currently, the game can be downloaded for free on smartphone devices, although there are a number of in-app purchases available.
The Steam version, on the other hand, is available for £3.99, although it’s on sale for £3.19 at the time of writing.
The online game tasks players with discovering the imposter among a crew of astronauts.
“Play with 4-10 player online or via local WiFi as you attempt to prepare your spaceship for departure, but beware as one or more random players among the Crew are Impostors bent on killing everyone!”
