Hamilton police say 38-year-old Jason Murray turned himself in to Sarnia police early Wednesday morning, one week after he went missing from St. Joe’s West 5th mental health campus.
According to police, Murray was an involuntary patient in the forensic program at St. Joe’s.
Syna Lorn, 33, went missing shortly after 4 p.m. on June 4, after he left the West 5th mental health campus.
The hospital notified police. But police didn’t tell the public until 19 hours later.
Hamilton police told CBC News last Tuesday that they were conducting a review and are looking into the circumstances around last week’s disappearance.
Police said Murray is “currently awaiting a police escort to Hamilton.”
Murray is expected in court in Hamilton on Thursday June 21.
