Instagram revealed this new feature in a blog post. In it they said: “We’re rolling out Recently Deleted, a feature to help you manage your content. We know this is something people have been asking for and now, for the first time, you can review and restore deleted content in the Instagram app. We also added protections to help prevent hackers from compromising your account and deleting posts you’ve shared.”
To start with, Instagram users will now be asked to verify that they are the rightful holder of the profile in question when attempting to permanently delete or restore content.
To bring back any deleted Instagram content users will then have to go to Settings > Account > Recently Deleted.
From there, an Instagram user can either restore or permanently delete the content.
Instagram users will also need to have the latest version of the iOS or Android app installed.
Instagram added: “We know hackers sometimes delete content when they gain access to an account, and until now people had no way of easily getting their photos and videos back.
