UK retailer Box.co.uk has confirmed that it will be restocking the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles twice more before the end of the month.
The news was shared via the company’s Twitter account but didn’t provide much in the way of timing.
The good news is that the next Xbox Series X restock will be happening before the start of February and include a different system to other retailers.
While the likes of Argos, GAME and Currys operate purely on a first-come-first-served basis, Box.co.uk is doing things differently.
As a way to combat bots and scalpers, as well as making it a bit fairer for everyone, the Xbox Series X stock offered on the Box site is released via a ballot system.
So for anyone who wants a chance at buying an Xbox Series X during January, they will need to head over to Box.co.uk and make sure they have registered their interest via email.
This will mean accepting whatever terms and conditions the site operates under and doesn’t guarantee anyone a console.
The official announcement from Box reads: “We will be getting two waves of stock towards the end of January for the Xbox Series X and S consoles.
“Those who have entered will be communicated 24hrs before the draw is made.
“Please keep an eye on our social media, where we will announce when the emails are sent out to lucky winners.”
Other retailers are also expected to be getting more stock from Microsoft, with GAME and Currys also seeing updates in January.
But this announcement from Box is one of the first confirmed restock events locked in for those looking to buy Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S consoles.
The rules from Box states: “Box.co.uk have decided to run a ballot system for the new Xbox Series X while stock is in such constraint and demand is so high.
“The ballot system allows customers to sign up with their email address and name in order to be in with a chance of being selected at random to purchase a console.
“The ballot will close when supply can keep up with demand. Upon which we will email all contacts to inform them of the closure of the ballot system and that plentiful stock is available at box.co.uk for anyone still looking to purchase a console.
“As we receive each wave of stock, a ballot will be drawn from the remaining customers within the ballot who have not already been invited to purchase. We will announce each draw 24 hours before it happens via our social media channels.”
