Plenty of Nintendo Switch gamers are ready to start playing the console’s next big exclusive; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2.
News on the subject has been in short supply since Nintendo announced the project back in 2019 and the latest hints suggest that something big could be on the horizon.
Several insiders hint that the next reveal could take place in 2021, even though Nintendo remains silent on its Zelda plans.
The latest teaser has been provided by a Brazilian streamer, who hinted that more news could be coming this year regarding several high profile Nintendo franchises.
PH Brazil, who according to Comic Book has provided solid information in the past, shared a New Year’s greeting, along with pictures from the Likes of BOTW 2, Splatoon and Metroid Prime.
And fans are certainly hoping that some new information will be shared this year regarding Link’s next adventure.
Having waited since 2019 for a new trailer, nothing new has been provided by Nintendo regarding the storyline or setting.
Other reports have suggested that Nintendo are planning a big year in 2021, topped with the release, or announcement, of a new console.
This would be the Nintendo Switch Pro, which would include an upgraded screen, along with better battery life for handheld gaming.
But unlike BOTW 2, Nintendo has yet to share any information regarding its plans for a new console, and there has been no indication that something this big is being planned for 2021.
However, releasing a new upgraded Switch console the same year as Breath of the Wild 2 hits the market sounds like a recipe for further sales success.
And this isn’t the only hint we’ve had that Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 is being planned for 2021.
This year is the 35th anniversary of when The Legend of Zelda launched on the Famicom System in Japan.
That happened on February 21, 1986, but gamers will probably have to wait a little longer for any kind of celebration announcement.
Nintendo recently extended the celebrations for the 35th anniversary year of Super Mario Bros, which will no end in March 2021.
But after this date, Nintendo will have plenty of time to announce its plans for The Legend of Zelda franchise.
Four years between BOTW titles should provide plenty of room for new features and innovations to be made to the winning Wild formula, but gamers will have to wait and see if the company is ready to reveal more in the coming months.
