Having e-mails and social media updates delivered to a user as soon as they wake their device from standby would be a great time saving feature.

And it would help to provide that same, speedy service we get from our smartphones on traditional laptops, which can take a few seconds to wake and don’t download these kind of updates in the background.

Besides this ‘instant on’ feature, Windows 10X is expected to bring plenty of other great functionality to the table as well. Windows 10X will have a sleeker, more simple look than the current of version of Windows 10.

The operating system, which is built around Microsoft’s Fluent Design language, will feature a Start Menu without live tiles and a new Action Centre designed around quicker actions.
