Bethesda has confirmed that they will be launching the big Fallout 76 Steel Dawn update early tonight.
It looks like the next Fallout 76 update will be available to download across all platform at around 3am GMT.
This will be on November 25, a full week before Steel Dawn was scheduled to launch on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Last-minute changes were made following an issue the Xbox platform, which saw the Fallout 76 update pushed early.
A message from Bethesda explains: “Earlier today, there was an error that caused players in our Xbox community to download the Steel Dawn Update ahead of schedule, but prevented them from actually playing.
“We immediately investigated ways to get our Xbox players back in-game as soon as possible, but, through our discussions, the entire BGS team felt confident that Steel Dawn is ready to go.”
So for gamers in the United States, the new Fallout 76 Steel Dawn release date has been set for 10pm EDT, on November 24.
This is based on Bethesda’s maintenance schedule, which suggests servers will be back online after six hours of maintenance.
This could prove incorrect if the current Fallout 76 server maintenance is completed ahead of schedule.
Bethesda confirms: “instead of rolling back the update and making everyone wait another week, we’ve decided to release the Steel Dawn Update on all platforms today, November 24.
“We’re scheduled to begin maintenance for all platforms at 4:00 p.m. ET, and we expect Fallout 76 to be offline for around six hours. When maintenance is over, you’ll be able to get started with the Steel Dawn questline, your first C.A.M.P. Shelter, and everything else this update contains.
“We’d like to apologize to our Xbox players for any confusion today’s issue caused, but we hope that everyone in the Fallout 76 community is as excited as we are to dive into Steel Dawn ahead of schedule.
“Thank you very much. If you celebrate Thanksgiving, we hope all of you have a wonderful holiday. We’ll see you at Fort Atlas.”
Fallout 76 update 1.47 is launching later today and will weigh in between 8GB on PC and 16GB on consoles.
After maintenance is complete, gamers will be able to take on the Steel Dawn questline, meet new characters, explore new locations, and lay claim to some new rewards. This update also introduces the C.A.M.P. Shelters feature, as well as important hunger and thirst improvements.
